My name is James Chen, I grew up in the San Gabriel Valley with my parents and 5 siblings. Both of my parents worked very hard and instilled their work ethic in us as kids. My father works in construction and my mom worked in the sewing factory and was a superhero raising 6 kids. Some of my greatest childhood memories were of the times spent with my family and the fun times playing and wrestling with my cousins in the front yard. I am married to my beautiful wife Lily who is also a State Farm agent and together we have a fun and loving daughter. Family is very important to me and we enjoy spending time together with our siblings so that the our daughter can play with her little cousins. I am a car enthusiast and have loved cars since I was a kid, so it is super cool that I am an Insurance Agent for the largest Auto Insurer in California.
I enjoy giving back to the community and am proud to be a past president of the local Kiwanis club. My family and I also donate to the Habitat for Humanity, Hope House, Kiwanis, the local Veterans organizations and to the local teacher association.
I attended the University of Southern California and graduated with two degrees a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science in 2001 and 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Prior to working at State Farm I worked at UBS Wealth Management. In 2015 I began my career with State Farm as a team member. I enjoyed helping families protect their homes, businesses, autos, and manage their retirements so much I decided to open my own State Farm Agency in 2017. I really enjoy growing with our customers.
